Jeff Elder is a Tulsa-born hybrid media artist whose work moves freely between songwriting, storytelling, visuals, and recorded audio — often, deliberately, between all of them at once. His projects exist in the same creative universe, where the lines between fiction and reality are left intentionally blurred. Mixing bits and pieces of audio, video, and narrative, Jeff builds worlds that reward the curious and confound the comfortable. Fueled by a lifelong passion for the open road, he brings a uniquely Midwestern perspective to work that is eclectic and genre-defying by habit. An early adopter, Jeff embraces both classic and emerging technologies and methods as tools for creative exploration, always looking for new ways to make the work stranger and more interesting.

For decades, that work happened under a revolving cast of names — Roy Holliday, RFH, Sand Dollar Rodeo, Adam Baum, Stu Starr, and others — long before “Jeff Elder” was ever on the label. The pseudonyms were part of the fun, but they also meant the work never quite added up to a single, findable body of work. That’s changing. Jeff is in the process of remastering and re-releasing decades of music under his own brand, bringing everything — past, present, and whatever comes next — into one place.

Welcome! I maintain this site myself — my own little hub on the great wide innerweb. So yes, if you comment on a post, you’re actually talking to me. In fact, that’s true of pretty much everything you’ll find here. No team, no committee smoothing out the edges — just me, doing the work the way I want to do it on my own terms.

This is a continually evolving place, and over time I hope it becomes a proper archive of everything I’ve made — music, books, audio, and whatever strange highways I wander down next. Check back often.
