We will be setting up for breakfast at Parker County Veterinary Hospital this coming Tuesday (which is their low-cost vaccination day). We plan on being open by 8am and staying until 11am (or sellout – whichever comes first). Being the animal lovers we are, we will be donating all cash tips (aka anything that goes in the tip jar) that come in that morning to their Casey Dawg Fund.
From PCVH:
“Casey Dawg was a special companion of Mr. Winchester, a long time client of Dr. Jarrett. Just shy of 16 yrs, Casey passed from this world after battling several health issues.
Mr. Winchester loved him so much that he wanted Casey’s life to go forward with a positive influence. For his love of Casey, Mr. Winchester wanted to donate to the hospital because of the great care his pet received and to help others who otherwise couldn’t afford proper veterinary care. The fund was initially started in 2010 with $250 and has collected donations in excess of $3000 each year. This fund has assisted in the medical care and treatment of many who otherwise would not have been able to afford it. In some cases, it has literally made the difference between life and death.
The fund is not used for elective procedures such as wellness check ups, annual vaccines, or heartworm testing.
Once a client accepts money from the Casey Dawg Fund, they are asked to donate to the fund when they are back on their feet and financially able. Pay it Forward.”
We are excited with this opportunity to serve breakfast in Weatherford and to give something back to the community. Maybe we’ll turn this into a regular thing if it goes well… that being said, we hope to see you there!
